Ballet


In this class dancers will learn the most important part of dance, ballet. Ballet is often referred to as the backbone of dance. The fundamentals and technique learned in ballet are often used throughout all other styles of dance. Ballet is on of three classes offered in our all in one class.


Dancers will learn one ballet routine to perform in the recital and are required to start in ballet slippers and may work their way up to pointe shoes.

Tap


In this class dancers wear special shoes with metal taps on the soles that allows them to create their own drum like rhythmic patterns while they dance. Tap is on of three classes offered in our all in one class.


Dancers will learn one tap routine to perform in the recital and are required to  wear black tap shoes, style of your choice (slip on, tie, or buckle).

Jazz


In this class dancers will learn the technique and fundamentals of jazz dance. This style involves quick footsteps, leaps, turns, and jumps. Jazz is on of three classes offered in our all in one class.


Dancers will learn one jazz routine to perform in the recital and are required to wear tan jazz shoes.

Musical Theatre


In this class students will learn the basics of theatre dancing, acting, and jazz styles. They will learn to dance to songs from musicals and broadway shows challenging them to dance while acting and lip syncing. This class is available for 4th through 12th grade.


Dancers will learn two routines to perform in the recital, with one costume to purchase. Dancers will wear tan jazz shoes unless specified by the teacher for a specific routine.

Hip-Hop


In this class students will learn the basics and different styles of hip-hop. They will learn grooves, isolations, tricks, popping, locking, and many other techniques in their choreography. This class is available for kindergarten through 12th grade.


Dancers will learn two routines to perform in the recital, with one costume to purchase. Dancers may wear any safe and comfortable tennis shoes that are clean. They cannot be their everyday street shoes.

Lyrical


In this class students will learn technique and different styles of lyrical, contemporary, and modern dance. Lyrical is all about connecting the mind and the body through dance movements. This class is available for 4th through 12th grade.


Dancers will learn two routines to perform in the recital, with one costume to purchase. Dancers are required to wear half sole lyrical shoes for this class.




Pre Kindergarten


This class is perfect for young dancers ages 3 to 4 who want to try dance, get active, and even meet new friends. This class will not only introduce them to the world of dance, but give them the best foundation for them to succeed. 


In this class they will focus on ballet, tap, and tumbling. At the recital they will perform two routines, tap and ballet, with the purchase of only one costume. They will need pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes to participate in class and the recital. 

Tumbling


Our studios hold four different six week tumbling sessions throughout our season from September through April. Dancers can sign up for any of the four sessions throughout the year to help improve their flexibly, agility, and tumbling skills!


The dancers will be barefoot in this class and need to wear form fitted clothing to be able to be spotted by their instructors properly. Tumbling classes do not learn a routine to perform at our end of the year recital. This class is strictly for technique. 

Competition


Want to take it to the next level? This is the perfect opportunity for your dancer. The DUDC is our studio competition team. To be apart of our competition team you must be enrolled in one studio technique class listed above. The team practices through our regular dance season from September to April, and they travel to three different competitions at the end of the season from January to April.
